Family and friends gathered in Laramie, Wyoming, on August 24 at 1 p.m. to honor and celebrate the life of Hayes Hamaker during a memorial service held at the University of Wyoming Cliff & Martha Hansen Teaching Arena.
The service, titled “Cowboy Hayes Hamaker Celebration of Life,” brought together members of the rodeo community, loved ones, and supporters who came to pay their respects and say their goodbyes.
Attendees were asked to wear blue in his honor, a color described by the family as one of Hayes’ favorites. The gathering reflected the close-knit bond of the rodeo community, where Hayes was remembered for his warmth, energy, and the joy he brought to those around him.
The Hamaker family extended gratitude to everyone who attended or supported them during this difficult time, including members of the Summit Pro Rodeo family and others within the wider rodeo world who shared in their grief.
Hayes Hamaker is remembered as someone who “lit up so many lives,” with tributes highlighting his ability to bring happiness to people of all ages and his lasting impact on those who knew him.
Messages of sympathy and support have continued to arrive for the Hamaker family, who asked that cards and condolences be sent to Ty and Alison Hamaker in Laramie, Wyoming.
The community continues to mourn his passing while holding onto memories of his life, spirit, and the legacy he leaves behind.
